Dr. Oz and His $1 Diet: The Dean Brothers, the Diets, and Your Health
The episode about the $1 Diet repeated the original Dr. Oz show today. I suppose that Dr. Oz is celebrating the 4th of July with Lisa and his daughters today. I doubt that he is limiting his budget to one dollar today! That would equate to one hot dog… Eventually, he will return to tape new episodes for the next season of his TV show.
Dr. Oz and the $1 Diet
He is stuck on diets. There was one show when he realized that diets were NOT the answer to a healthy Lifestyle. But then he regressed and gave his audience the $1 Diet.
If you really think that you are going to thrive on the Dean Brothers’ idea of $1 food dishes; then all I can do is to wish you a lot of luck. While these two young whippersnappers are cooking better meals than their mother, Paula; they still have a long way to go before I can call the dishes they featured on Dr. Oz to be truly healthy. They are cheap, but they are not going to really support your ideal maintenance of your weight any time soon… Sorry, boys!
Dr. Oz recommends kale and seasonal foods, but I just cannot get behind the idea of canned salmon or canned anything for that matter! The only exception would be if you canned your own fresh produce from your garden during harvest time to preserve what you could not eat while in season…or if you had some Food Storage for emergencies.
The Dean Brothers are in California in Wine Country doing the next Great Steak Contest, so they should get some good ideas for fresh food from the recipes this summer. Where are the salads, seaweeds, legumes, and fresh fruit? Boys…you can do better, just ask Jamie!
I am offended when Dr. Oz puts on his website the thought that you don’t need to spend money on organic foods. That’s an irresponsible statement. When you develop cancer and other degenerative diseases, because you took his advice; you can ask him for money to pay for your expensive medical bills! Organic foods pay for themselves ten times over by keeping you healthy, strong, and free from disease when you eat a balanced natural foods diet. There was not one thing that I would have eaten on the Dr. Oz show with the butter brothers today!
It’s doing a little better than butter, cream, fried foods, and sugar-laden desserts; but canned tomatoes and lots of cheese just doesn’t cut the mustard for a healthy dietary regimen. You would do better to eat fresh organic fruit, steam some vegetables from the garden, and have your brown rice with beans instead of chicken. There was a meager attempt to get some veggies into their $1 dishes, but not enough for my recommendation for a healthy and sound diet of whole foods that are based upon plants…not meat and cheese.
Your health depends upon more than a few pounds and your body suffers internally when you don’t get enough nutrients from fresh organic whole foods. I have watched the Dean Brothers grow up, get married, have children, and go on to do their own thing in the Foodies world after Paula got her gig with the Food Network. They are still ‘meat and potatoes…and wine’ guys. There’s room for growth.
Did you know that your body will acclimate to an organic whole foods plant-based diet and take you to your ideal weight and bodily proportions? It happens… You don’t have to work hard at it. You don’t have to count calories until you are neurotic. You don’t have to quit eating foods that taste good. It’s a more natural process with greater benefits than weight management. You can enjoy authentic well-being, Longevity, and a superior ‘quality of Life’ by living a healthy Lifestyle.
