Hunting and Fishing Licenses Statistics Show Decline in Interest…Buy From Fossil Farms Instead!
We grew up hunting and fishing in wild and wonderful Wyoming, the venison usually took us through the entire year with delicious dinners and jerky for healthy snacks. We fished the rivers and streams for trout. We occasionally had rabbit, quail, grouse, and duck to provide a generous range of exotic meats and fowl for our tables.
Statistics recently showed that the demand for Hunting and Fishing Licenses is diminishing rapidly across the country. State governments that have funded Wildlife Programs from license fees for decades are concerned that there will not be enough money to compensate for the lack of interest in hunting and fishing as people’s choices change. Revenue was dependable and constant, now there is cause for concern with the big dip.
Vermont sales of licenses has plummeted by 20 percent. Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Oregon, and West Virginia have all experienced similar drops in revenue from sales of licenses.
This trend reduces funding available to preserve species and to conduct search operations for lost hikers. Even the states who offer mentoring and training programs for youth in survival skills and outdoor activities have to compete with the kid’s other choices.
Still…one must look at the health side of this issue, too. If we lose funding for conservation and environmental preservation; then we stand to lose a rural cultural heritage and skill set! We stand to lose our resources for wild meats and fowl that raised a Nation. People in my small town may not have had meat in their diet, had it not been for the deer, elk, and antelope.
All is not lost yet and if you do not have the time nor the inclination to hunt or fish, but you still want to benefit from a healthier alternative to domestic meat. Well. Fossil Farms makes Wild and Exotic Meat and Fowl available shipped directly to your Door!
