The DoctorsTV Dare Has Gone Too Far for Health’s Sake!

I am actually disgusted by the stupid antics on today’s episode of TheDoctorsTV!

Who is producing these ridiculous shows? How on earth can anyone continue to trust the information when the production team would place the doctors’ health in jeopardy with such horrendous Dares? Phil, I hope you are not coaching your son…

I am close to making a decision to no longer watch or comment on this show. The entertainment value is becoming more important than the educational value, so why should we waste our time on this vulgar behavior in the name of medicine! I am appalled…

It is unprofessional and goes against the Hippocratic Oath to do what the doctors did today. It is irresponsible to do this on national TV. The doctors should know better. They have warned kids and young adults not to engage in risky behavior that could impact their health, but then here they are doing it to their fellow physicians. It was painful to watch them make fools of themselves. I expect more from them.

Anyone who forces Dr. Lisa to put those damn hot peppers in her mouth raw is out of their minds!

First of all, any culinary expert knows that you don’t eat those hot peppers raw. You might add a little to certain dishes to add heat and flavor, but you don’t go about intentionally burning the delicate tissues of the mouth, the throat, the stomach, and the rest of the digestive system. That was horrible and it is utterly stupid to have made that Dare with dangerous peppers. Dr. Travis should have stopped it from happening, since he most likely has had to treat burns in the ER from idiots who eat these hot peppers in restaurants or experiment with hot sauces that are becoming more common as people lose their brain power and put things in their mouths that sane people would refuse. There is no good reason to consciously burn your digestive system on a Dare. Shame on those doctors and producers!

Don’t do this at home…and don’t do it at any restaurant, no matter how many of your friends fall for the challenge. It’s not worth it and you’ll pay for it dearly. It’s no laughing matter.

Dr. Travis was still shaking from his encounter with the snake. He was really afraid and yet he was goaded into having the snake placed around his neck and shoulders. He started to shake when the head of the snake rose closer to his neck. No one should be forced to face their fears unless they are truly ready to do so…with proper guidance and support, instead of humiliation and embarrassment. Someone should have given Dr. Travis a way out of that trap!

Dr. Drew was eating his own way out of the world of bugs, insects, and scorpions. At least the woman had gone to the trouble of preparing the bugs with spices and seasonings, instead of expecting Dr. Drew to eat them raw and alive. It was easier to see the snails crawl across the face of Dr. Travis while everyone watched the slime trail. Some people delight in the pain and discomfort of others and we thought that doctors were supposed to be more interested in reducing pain and eliminating discomfort instead of promoting and applauding it on television.

Dr. Jim got the least dangerous Dares. Acupuncture is not quite the same as most fears of needles, but you wouldn’t know that unless you have been trained or have taken a treatment from a professional in TCM. Many years and training go into needle placement, so it’s a lot more sophisticated that poking a needle into the skin in a random location. It’s designed not to be painful as one of the most ancient and effective Healing Arts in the world. So Dr. Jim got the right end of the Dare Stick. He did later get dunked into ice cold water in a tank. At least he is in good enough shape to weather the water that could be very risky for weaker individuals. These Dares were not given much thought and it was unfortunate that this episode aired.

Please, please, please…don’t do this again and don’t mimic the stupid doctors!
