Almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, filberts, pecans, and hazelnuts…any of these are excellent choices for a healthy snack to keep nibbling on during the day. These Nuts are the best healthy alternative to candy that will make your mouth water for more.
You can eat them raw or roasted, plain or seasoned, and alone or with other nibbles. My favorite are gently roasted with a soak in tamari and a sprinkle of sea salt. My second favorite are heated with either a maple syrup glaze or a chocolate coating.
These healthy snacks have all the vitamins and minerals needed to metabolize the protein, carbs, and lipids that are natural to the whole nut. It’s a “Whole Food”. Nuts are the perfect snack to nibble on whenever you want to reach for something without all the time involved in preparing an entire meal.
