TheDoctorsTV and Happy Foods that Improve Your Mood, Acupuncture for Pets, and BodyTalk

BodyTalk can be described as the sensations and indicators that your body gives you to communicate what is going on inside and out. If you pay attention, you will learn this language as it relates to your body. Pain, elation, warmth, chills, goosebumps, tingling, and so many other sensations will tell you exactly what is happening.

Pain gets your attention more often than not; but the ideal sensation of BodyTalk that you can listen to is the state of Bliss or Happiness. When you are experiencing a euphoric state of Being, you want to keep feeling that way again and again and again until it becomes your natural state of continuous Bliss. Your state of Consciousness and your attitude determines what you body manifests, so you will eventually learn how to hold the thoughts and feelings that bring Happiness to your entire embodiment. The foods that Dr. Travis and the rest of the doctors talked about this morning are well-known in many cultures for being bright, fresh, cleansing, and refreshing for one’s mood and one’s food. Lemons, oranges, and other fruits have the bio-energetic affect of gentle stimulation. The Essential Oils of Lemon and Orange are known for clearing energy, purification, and warming stimulation. There are foods that contain certain amino acids that will also boost your mood. It IS important to maintain your Balance in all of this. You want to derive your joy and satisfaction in Life from your inner state of peace and tranquility, a zest for living, and the empowerment of the beauty of your own natural way of being.

Dr. Lisa…Goji Berries are not technically an herb. They ARE berries from a real living plant. They don’t have THAT much vitamin A that you would have to be concerned about for pregnant women if you knew Goji Berries like we know Goji Berries. Wolf, wolf….LOL! We do agree that Goji Berries are an excellent addition to a healthy Lifestyle which utilizes whole foods to enhance the nutrients and the ability of the body to adapt to stress. This is why we call many of these natural substances ‘Adaptogens’. You typically find an herbal formulation which combines many herbs and substances into one formula to serve you as an Adaptogen. There are healthy beverages made with Goji Berries and juices that replenish and refresh your body and mind.

It’s amazing to me that physicians that have only been trained in Western Medicine seem to feel the need to have research studies identify a statistical relevance for tried and true modalities that come from the East. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective for centuries and doesn’t need Western Medicine to verify the truth of direct experience in the ‘practice’ of this Healing Art. We laugh at the arrogance of doctors who need to be able to quote from an expensive research project before establishing the validity of the health benefits from Acupuncture. Nor does it require an understanding of endorphins to realize that there is a benefit from exercise. Even Dr. Lisa can describe the physiological response of ‘arousal’, but a person who is aroused doesn’t have to know much about nerve impulses and pathways to gain the benefit from arousal. Human Beings have an intuitive knowledge and awareness about Touch, Movement, Bodywork, and BodyTalk. We have lived for millions of years and as we evolve, we learn about our bodies, minds, and spiritual connections that we use while living in a physical body. We can label this with descriptive words, yet it is even more valuable to learn to wield the instrument… Didn’t you get your Owner’s Manual from your parents?

We first observed the value of Acupuncture for animals when in Durango, Colorado where one of our friends who was a veterinarian used Acupuncture in her work with horses, dogs, and cats. Animals respond to this Healing Art and seek it out again and again. Chiropractic and Bodywork are also highly recommended for animals. We have a new recommendation of the MRS 2000 which is particularly helpful for horses. Of, course, humans benefit from this equipment as well. In fact, once you lay upon an MRS 2000, you won’t mind getting one for your beloved pets, too. Animals also respond to loving touch and you can watch that back leg of your dog show you just how good it feels when you take the time to interact with your pets. Besides learning to ‘whisper’ with your animals, you can learn to give them that healing touch which bonds one to the other.

Before you look for lumps in your breasts, take the time to massage your own body to support healthy lymphatic function and blood circulation. You can do this for yourself and receive a healing massage from your favorite local Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers. If you get a massage once or twice a week, you can often reduce the risk for lump to appear, especially if you have an organic whole foods diet that is free from synthetic chemicals and toxins in the environment. Yoga and Tai Chi as well as stretching are going to contribute to the health of your body. When you enjoy the benefits of living a healthy Lifestyle; then you can let go of the fear of not knowing what your body is telling you. You should strive to know your body better than anyone else, even your spouse or doctor.

Dr. Drew and the rest of the crew seemed to find that snazzy new toilet fascinating. The features make it more futuristic and fun…even the sounds that you can play while you poop.

OK…here we go with the topic of COFFEE. You may have noticed that the price of coffee has increased dramatically recently and people will be able to justify the added expense when they learn that there are actually health benefits from drinking the brew. However, the quality of your coffee is of paramount significance. You can’t just drink a cup of joe from any dive and think you’ll see good things come from a bad cup of coffee. Free Trade shade-grown, organic coffee beans may cost more; but the quality of the end product is worth every penny…or dollar! The only way to sweeten your coffee is with a natural sweetener and you should use soy milk or almond milk or coconut milk, instead of cow milk or cream or an artificial creamer. Your coffee beans need to be recently and properly roasted and ground fresh for the best brew you can drink for your health. Dr. Travis is talking about a dark roast being preferable to a light roast and the degree of acid in your coffee. If you are going to include coffee in your daily life; then at least make sure that it’s the best coffee you can buy for your health. It can do so much more than simply stimulate the adrenals, keep you alert and awake, and force you to relieve a full bladder more frequently. One cup of good coffee is enough for one day. If you are still feeling tired and sluggish as you enter the middle portion of your day; then you need to consider taking those adaptogenic herbal formulations we mentioned earlier. If you are deficient, then rather than relying upon external stimulation from coffee or other substances; you can replenish your own energy using herbs, whole foods, and Tai Chi or other martial arts. Then again, learning tantra might accomplish the same thing and you can do some BodyTalking with a partner while you generate some energy!

Whatever path you choose, do so with integrity, vitality, and dedication to your own well-being. You can improve your mood in so many ways. Healthy whole foods are one of my favorite methods, but I never forget to enjoy a great massage. It doesn’t have to be an ‘either/or’ situation. Eat, Massage, Live Well…
