Culture is Best When It’s Real…

Yogurt is commonly produced without the culture continuing to be viable due to heat and food production practices…so its value for your health is diminished. There are some companies which do keep the active culture intact in their finished product. Be careful to find one that does. Kefir is difficult to find, but it is worth the effort. It is thick and often flavored. You may have to venture into a real food coop to find kefir.

If you don’t care for the taste of yogurt or kefir, then you need to supplement your diet with an alternative to keep the friendly flora in good supply. There are many advertisements for Activia and Yoplait, but really… It’s better to find a good natural source of Probiotics.
