Dr. Oz Loves Salmon, EFA’s, and FlaxSeeds for Heart and Brain Health
I doubt that Dr. Oz will be heading off to any desert island any time soon, but if he did; Doctor Oz said that he would take one nutritional supplement with him. What would that be?
It wouldn’t need to be vitamin D3, because his body would convert the sunshine on the tropical island within his system internally. But then he would need to harvest the sea vegetables – yes, that IS seaweed – and get calcium and other minerals from these delicacies for his body to maintain bone, heart, and nervous system health along with strengthening his immune system.
It wouldn’t need to be vitamin C, because the tropical fruits like pineapple, guava, mango, papaya, and other delicious sweet fruits would provide plenty of vitamin C and ascorbic acid along with other co-factors for nourishing his body.
It wouldn’t need to be IMO or sweet potatoes, because he could grow his own on an island in good soil rich in minerals. This would provide him with lots of beta-carotene and being a root vegetable…we know he would enjoy eating it daily with the fish from the ocean.
It wouldn’t be chocolate or coffee, because he could find wild beans and bushes growing on a tropical island and learn how to dry, roast, and brew both hot chocolate and hot coffee, just like our favorite Hawaiian Koa Coffee providers do every day.
We also feel strongly that taking a daily supplement of EFAs from fish oil or flaxseed oil is a very good way to maintain the health of your heart and brain, in addition to keeping cancer and endocrine imbalances at bay.
We suggest that both you and Dr. Oz choose Barlean’s FlaxSeed Oil. They have proven themselves over the years and you can trust them for continued quality control. You will be able to find Barlean’s at My Secret Pantry, just look at the Menu on the left side of the site. The cedar planks are available through this company, too.
We also love the texture and taste of Coromega Fish Oil. It is more like pudding and the kids think it’s a treat, rather than just a supplement. I wish that I had Coromega when I was young, instead of Chocks… LOL
There really is no real substitute for salmon. It is incredible, it is delicious, and if Dr. Oz had to locate an island, he would do OK to make it one of the islands in Washington state where the salmon run every year.
Of course, you can order your salmon and fresh fish from VitalChoice online to get the benefits from the healthy oils and the protein and other nutrients in this king of fish that spends time in both the ocean and our rivers.
You can season your salmon in so many ways with the blends from Frontier. In addition to the usual choices, you can take any of the dips and turn them into sauces to drizzle over the salmon when you steam it or pull it from the oven.
If you want to make your salmon extra special with a hint of ancient traditions; then prepare your salmon on a cedar plank. It’s the way our indigenous population cooks their salmon around the fire outside and it tastes great!
Just close your eyes and you’ll feel like you are in paradise on a tropical island with the finest fish and the resulting benefits of good health!
