This Doctor Weighs in On Protein Drinks, Lozenges for Sore Throats, and the Myths of Make-Up
Well, it is a tough topic when discussing the health risks surrounding the use of Make-Up, because billions of dollars are poured into the Skin Care and Beauty Industry every year to bring you a variety of products with all the promises, hype, and potential for maintaining your youthful appearance and gorgeous skin, hair, and eyes.
Who do you believe and who can you trust? That’s such a loaded question! First of all, it is my sincere recommendation that you cease wearing Make-Up altogether. This IS the ideal solution.
It’s unlikely that you or your significant other will give up plastering cremes, potions, and lotions on their faces, bodies, and any surface area that is exposed to the air. Given that choicer, your next best bet is natural and organic products at the very least. You can bet that anything that had to be tested on innocent animals is not necessarily going to be safe for your delicate skin. I still can close my eyes and see the rabbits that were used as research for some popular brand of cosmetics and brought to the attention of the public to expose the hypocrisy.
There are good and even excellent alternatives to the expensive brand names that you see advertised on TV, radio, magazines, and with every model’s contract on the globe. Even Ellen can be found promoting these products as the face of…
Just realize that your eyes are the window of your Soul and that’s what your partner should be looking at…and all outer beauty is then the reflection of one’s inner state of wonderful! If you are in need of nourishing your skin or resolving an infection or moisturizing your dry skin, then that’s another matter. There are some special natural products which will keep your body healthy on the surface and in the interior. Use these with wild abandon to nurture your health and maintain your youth, but be careful not to fall into the trap of needing to use make-up just to be perceived as pretty or desirable! That’s so shallow…
Today on TheDoctorsTV there was a segment on Lozenges for a sore throat or bad breath. Dr. Travis and Dr. Jim have been tasting the demo products, because they were more interested in how good they tasted than in their effectiveness. For me it goes without saying that you need to get natural Lozenges that have NO artificial sweeteners or ingredients. There are many which use honey or stevia to make them palatable and actually good tasting. We like the Zinc Lozenges which address the cause of the sore throat immediately.
If you have a sore throat, then the best thing to do is to gargle with GSE mixed with purified water. Do this every half hour until the soreness is gone and then do it three times daily until you are certain that you’ve gotten rid of the bug that made your throat sore in the first place. If you are a singer or you speak frequently, then use some Honey Loquat Syryp to keep your mouth and throat lubricated and healthy, especially if you have any congestion or mucus.
In the News, Protein Drinks have gotten our attention and it’s worth discussing for a moment. Consumer Reports tested 15 brands of protein powder drinks and found four heavy metals present in all of these brands. While most of these brands are used for bulking up with muscle-building and are designed for that purpose; there are some basic considerations that you need to think about when choosing a protein drink.
First of all, don’t get a drink or a powder that is made with isolated soy substances or dairy products. We are not going to get into the reasons for this here, that will have to wait for our Newsletter another day. But if you really want to supplement your diet or replace a meal or build your body or lose weight with a protein drink, then our choice is with Barley Powder.
You can read all about the nutrient value and the preferred methods of processing this product on the website here. We think that this is a superior product and that you’ll be satisfied with it for every purpose.
Basically, the Barley is vegan, it’s raw food, and it is activated to support your body in recognition and absorption. AND…it’s BARLEY!
