DoctorsTV and Oz: Healthy Drinks and Happy Feet
So what do you get when you combine basil leaves with pineapple juice, apple juice, beet juice, tangerine juice, and ice? You get the ‘Red Tornado’ that Dr. Oz’s guest demonstrated which is rich in nutrients and strong in flavor.
If you cannot get along with the basil, then substitute the basil leaves for mint leaves. If you can’t find the tangerines, then you can use other citrus fruits instead. If you want your juice blend to be a little less tangy, but just as nutritious; then use papaya juice or peach juice or even pear juice to substitute for the tangerines.
The amount are on Dr. Oz’s website under recipes, but you can increase or decrease the ounces of any of the juices with the exception of the beet juice to make it more to your personal liking. That’s half the fun of juicing…making wild combinations of wonderful fruits and vegetables in the frenzy of the moment.
The DoctorsTV had a lot of good information on their show today, especially with that new technique for repairing bunions. But…the really important thought to come from this episode is to ‘wear comfortable shoes that do not compromise the structural aspect of your feet’. Imagine that?
Truly, the bane of civilization are high heel shoes that women wear as a fashion and identity statement all too frequently. They show their utter stupidity when they parade in three inch heels.
