Livers Love Burdock Root!
Burdock Root is an ancient method used in Asian cultures to purify the Liver and the blood. It has been used for centuries successfully to keep tyhe Liver cleansed of toxins and substances that need to be eliminated from the body for Optimal Health.
When you are considering ways to prepare Burdock Root, I suggest my favorite two. First is shavings. Just as you would shave a pencil to sharpen it with a knife, you can shave Burdock Root the same way. It cooks quickly in soups and vegetable broth in slivers.
Next…slices that are paper thin can be especially good in vegetable dishes and seaweeds. It looks a little like a tree with lines and makes a visually interesting addition to a plain colored vegetable or stew. These can take a longer time to cook and should be soft, but not mushy.
It is a favorite ingredient in Macrobiotic diets. They always use the fresh root which can be challenging to locate at regular stores.
If you simply can’t find the fresh root; then go visit our affiliate partner to get the cut and dried bulk root or a supplement from Oregon’s Wild Harvest.
Macrobiotic regimens love to use Burdock Root to support the body that is dealing with toxins from cancer therapy and drug use or abuse. The Liver Loves Burdock Root!
