Guys putting onions and bread in the refrigerator?!? Hey, there, boys…we keep the onions in the root cellar and we keep the bread in the breadbox – not in the frig!

Get your bread from an artisan who bakes it daily and eat it fresh, turning day old bread into bread pudding, breadcrumbs, or filler for meatloaf. Don’t eat that pre-sliced bread! It is often loaded with synthetic chemicals and preservatives by the manufacturer. You can find freshly-baked loaves locally that are organic and natural and healthy for you. I don’t eat bread anymore, but so many people use bread for toast, sandwiches, and dishes like french toast or crumb coating. If this is YOU, then do your body a favor and consume only organic breads baked the same day you eat it. Molds can compromise your immune system and congestion of the lungs can occur when you eat bread too frequently. Go whole grain instead!

The art and science of Food Combining is too vast to address here, but it is an essential part of your dietary planning for becoming healthy. Don’t ignore this and don’t make ridiculous mistakes like having orange juice with toast and cereal with milk for breakfast! Let’s take this knowledge to the next level in the public’s awareness…

Onions and root vegetables belong in your root cellar or your food pantry. Keep them properly for your healthy kitchen environment! Better yet…grow your garden and eat from it. Get a share of your local CSAs and support Sustainable Agriculture in your area!
Look at Dr. Oz and Mr. Yale fill up that plate with greens, veggies, fish, and whole grains. But what…WHAT was that? Pouring olive oil over the veggies – no, no, no! We prepare a healthy salad dressing with oils and herbs and spices and then drizzle over veggies or blend in a glass bowl before placing the food on your plate. These fellows need a cooking lesson…or two! It’s good and healthy to laugh at the antics of these guys who don’t prepare much food in their kitchens yet. That will be the miracle that comes from their educational process beyond university and medical school. The true health education happens in the kitchen and in the dining room after spending time in the garden!

It’s understandable that Dr. Oz would try to reduce Whole Foods down into phyto-chemicals and chemical constituents to explain the reasons for the health quotient of whole foods. It is the fact that they ARE ‘Whole Foods’ that will keep you healthy and the fact that these whole foods are comprised of chemicals indicates that your body will recognize the food and utilize it by absorption and assimilation.
By the way, put that apple cider vinegar in your ingredient list for salad dressings and in your cooking of recipes calling for vinegar. Peppermint tea is probably more effective for settling your stomach than vinegar, but the vinegar will kill those bacteria dwelling in your stomach, so don’t discount it altogether!
