The Chew and a Shamrock Smoothie for St. Partick’s Day

The Friday episode of The Chew featured recipes and ideas for St. Patrick’s Day.

Daphne Oz prepared a Shamrock Smoothie to celebrate this ‘green’ holiday in style and with a healthy beverage. She combined bananas with coconut milk, spinach, peppermint extract, and chocolate chips for a refreshing ‘green’ drink in honor of the Irish.

You could use real mint leaves and substitute soy milk, rice milk, or hemp milk should you find no coconuts on the Emerald Isles. If you don’t have spinach, you can use some spirulina to keep it green and healthy.

The Chew and St. Patrick’s Day Recipes

There recipes on today’s show included the usual cabbage, potatoes, peas, and meat in three versions of Shepherd’s Pie and other popular Irish dishes. The Chew crew put their spin on some recipes to make them extra special for tomorrow when you just might find a little gold at the end of your rainbow.
