9/11 Dust and Dr. Sanjay Gupta: First Responders and the Health Challenges at Ground Zero
CNN featured a segment with Dr. Sanjay Gupta about the health challenges faced by First Responders exposed to the Dust form the World Trade Center Terrorist Attacks on 9/11 ten years ago.
Dr. Gupta discussed Marty’s medical care following lung problems suffered as a result of breathing in the Dust at Ground Zero. He’s lucky to be alive, even after a lung transplant and forty pills of medication every day to keep him going. It’s fairly obvious to his doctors and to his family that his health problems stem from being in the Dust during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Marty is still experiencing problems and is in need of yet another lung transplant. His determination to survive in spite of his failing body is admirable, but raises some important points that need to be addressed and resolved for him and others who are also affected by the Dust.
The First Responders are the easiest group to study. They often had medical exams prior to the terrorist attack and thus there is a base from which to measure their health status and changes in blood biochemistry. There were some authorities who proclaimed that the Dust was not a health risk at the time, but now that premise doesn’t hold any water.
Although it is true that some of those First Responders are having more difficulty than others, some are more sick than others, and some have died from the damage done to their bodies in less than ten years’ time. This can complicate Public Health policies and health benefits and medical care for those still living. It’s our national responsibility to provide health care for those who risked their own lives to save so many others!
The anomalies show up in X-Rays and Blood tests. There are more than 300 distinct chemicals and compounds that have been analyzed in the Dust from Ground Zero. It is comprised of everything from jet fuel to plastic fragments to heavy metals and more known carcinogens and toxic substances. Health problems like cancer and rare diseases have been diagnosed in First Responders who showed no clinical symptoms before 9/11.
While most traditional methods of treatment are not completely successful, at least our First Responders are receiving medical care to alleviate their pain, basic complaints, and general care and rehabilitation. This Dust is a new ‘animal’ for doctors and hospitals. The Blood appears to carry the deadly toxins from the Dust to every organ and system, making for a variety in the presentations of disease and symptoms in each individual. It’s nasty business and many people don’t qualify for the level of care they need.
The families of those who are affected with health challenges from the Dust have to face lengthy periods of treatment and care for their loved ones. Some children have to be prepared for the eventual death of their fathers. Others have to grow up knowing that their parent is a hero, although they are so weak they cannot even play with their children. The lingering problems are agonizing and require thoughtful consideration for the service these First Responders provided for their fellow human beings struggling to be rescued and saved during the events on that day and in the aftermath of the attacks.
Out of this morass of pain and suffering will come solutions for future precautions like simple masks, medical procedures, and treatment protocols; but that is no solace to those who have exhibited some horrific examples of what this treacherous Dust can do to the human body. Many physicians are at a total loss for what to do to treat these people.
I would have to evaluate each of them with my EAV Equipment individually and devise a specific program unique to their personal needs and requirements. But a detoxification program coupled with a series of regenerative programs would be obvious to me as being two of the recommendations for recovery at first glance… This has never happened before to this degree of difficulty for the medical establishment. There is no real benchmark for comparison.
For the health of the human body, 9/11 was a monumental experiment that continues to this day. Signs of diseases that would take thirty years to manifest appear within just a few years and don’t always respond to traditional treatment. It’s both frustrating, yet hopeful that new knowledge will come from this for everyone’s benefit. It’s a stiff price to pay for those brave and heroic First Responders who have literally risked their lives for their fellow man.
We wish them well on this day of Remembrance!
