Stretch Your Body…Stretch Your Mind!

When you want to do a little healthy exercise for your body without going through the arduous journey of heading through traffic to drive to a gym or go to a club; then the perfect simple solution is: Stretching!

If you can find ten minutes…even two minutes will suffice if you are in a rush…to Stretch every day, especially in the morning or just as you are getting up from sleep or a nap; then you will do a great service to your body. It really is that easy! it really is that fast!
A quick Stretch is worth its weight in gold!

How is it that your Mind can play an important role in your body’s total health? Try this simple demonstration:

Swing your outstretched arms back and forth from one side to the other as far as is comfortable. Make a Note about how far to each side you can twist without any discomfort at all.

Now “Close Your Eyes”! In your Mind, swing your arms around to each side again and mentally go beyond the point where you were able to go with your body. Using your Mind, you can Stretch further without any additional effort. Swing your arms back and forth several times in your Mind.

Now…open your eyes and swing your actual physical arms side to side again. Did you notice? You are able to go beyond your previous point of physical comfort with this new Stretch. Why? Because you really “changed” your body with your Mind! Your Mind allowed your body to get the benefit of “imagined activity”. It is truly amazing!

You can do this with other Stretches, too! Many people feel foolish when they bend over to touch their toes and can barely get their fingertips past their knees. It’s a real indicator of how “out-of-shape” you are! This is often humiliating and if anyone is watching, it’s embarrassing! You may be tempted to swear off exercise forever.

But…if you do the “inner Workout” in your Mind gradually, over a period of weeks combining the actual physical Stretch with your mental Stretch; you will make excellent progress and you might even impress yourself!

If you will take the few minutes to exercise using your Mind, you will accomplish much more physically than if you dismiss this step in your routine. Try it and see for yourself!

Stretching is not supposed to be an exhausting expression of physical effort…it is designed to be easy and gentle. You accomplish a lot with a minimum of effort. You are not required to break a sweat. You are not expected to burn calories. You are not working out your body to the brink of exhaustion. No…no…no!

This movement is perfect in its simplicity and gentleness. It is supposed to be easy! Easy Does It! In fact, you will get more ‘bang for your buck’ with Stretching than you will get by forcing heavy-duty exercise regimens on a sagging body that is in no shape to deal with that in the first place. Stretching is the ideal way to begin exercise and to continue without overindulgence in extremes.
